 Platystomatidae ? from New Mexico

Platystomatidae? Or something similar like Otitidae? I had thought too of Pyrgotidae, but apparently this family is not found in the western United States. Location: Chihuahuan desert, on dry mammal scat containing many seeds. New Mexico USA. Behavior: Several flies were present and they were waving their wings. Date: 3 October 2007. Here is a second view with the wings closed, but most of the time the wings were held open.

i mean: i would go more for Ulidiidae - there are no preapical bristle on tibiae. |

Stephen, Otididae is no more a valid name for family. Now it is Ulidiidae. |

Acrosticta cf. rubida (Loew). Again, ID by Elena Kameneva. Some characters, however, seem disagreeing with the type of the latter species.
