In the Central European key I get Chaetovoria antennata: Voriini s.str. with bare eyes, no discals, and a row of parafacial bristles. The place is close but the time is wrong if 8.5.2018 is written in the European order meaning May 8. The summary reads "Central and Western Alps, Northern Scandinavia. High places in the mountains to 2800 m. Early July to End July, 1 generation. Very rare. Host unknown."

Hi John,

I found one publication where the authors mention a host: Anarta melanopa Thunberg (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae).

https://www.researchgate.net/publication/314230206_First_rearings_of_Chaetovoria_antennata_Villeneuve_Diptera_Tachinidae_including_description_of_the_puparium

A friend of mine collected the fly at about 500-600 meters in his garden...

Cheers, Helge

But discals are present on T4. I’d say it is Athrycia impressa.

2nd antennal segment looks more black and dusted to me..

in the key it is described as reddish-yellow.

Eyes are hairy, not visible in first pictures, so it should be Cyrtophleba ruricola.
