No, definitely not Phania funesa ... I think it's a tachinid of the tribe Winthemiini or a rhinophorid  |

It's OK Edith - it was an OK guess but Phania funesta has a very distinctive shiny, black body with weaker bristles; no petiole; and the head is a different shape See: http://www.dipter...&pid=37895 This fly is either a rhinophorid or something like Wagneria (sorry, not Winthemiini - my mistake): http://www.dipter...&pid=19531 |
