Hi, Here is a male Tachinid from southwest Germany (near Stuttgart), seen on 23 May 2019. I thought of Linnaemya, but the mouth part is not protruding, and there is only one row of orbital bristles. So I need help! Thanks, Sundew Edited by Sundew on 19-03-2020 19:53 |

Sundew, Clearly a male Carcelia. Difficult genus. Most features point quite convincingly towards C pubera. For this species, the mid tibia needs to be completely yellow. It does not appear to be so, though difficult to assess. Any pic with better view on mid tibia would help. Theo |

Shouldn't it be C. puberula? I don't find a C. "pubera".. In most of my pictures, the mid tibia is partly in the wing shadow. I cropped some of the better leg pics and lightened them a bit. I think we could call the mid tibia completely yellow. Do you agree? Edited by Sundew on 19-03-2020 12:17 |
