Ephydridae -> Scathophila

Member Location: Posts: 1833 Joined: 23.06.15	Hi, found indoors, Vienna (early April). Could it be Scatella palustris? Member Location: Posts: 7168 Joined: 19.11.04	I think your best option is a paper by Jens-Hermann Stuke (2010). Die Uferfliegen Niedersachsens und Bremens (Diptera: Ephydridae). Entomologische Zeitschrift, Stuttgart. 120: 171-189 and 195-222. [Scatophila is on pp.213-216]. If your specimen is a female, it may be more tricky. I think I have a copy I can send you. Member Location: Posts: 1833 Joined: 23.06.15	Using the key Tony provided, I reached tentatively S. caviceps. The scutellum appears to me dusted at the basis and at the tip.
