Hello, Is it Rhamphina pedemontana? This species seems rather variable, at least in terms of color, but the proboscis puzzles me, comparing it with pinned specimens (2 here and 1 at tachinidae.eu) : shouldn't its curve make it point forwards? Yes, the proboscis is flexible to some degree. Moreover, you have two species of Rhamphina, need to check that. Theo |

The way I understand Herting (1971), is that the haustellum is flexible in pedemontana and rigid in rectirostris. Anyhow, this is Rh. pedemontana. Theo |
