Hypoderma or Cephenemyia? ->Cephenemyia auribarbis
treebeard
Slovakia, Kysuce region, 800 m.a.s.l., 19 May 2020, young mixed forest, near forest road and gaps, mainly fallow deer, moufflon, red deer and wild boar are present, cattle may be found in some distance. Unfortunately, I have just pictures from this angle.

Thank you in advance
Matej

Very nice Cephenemyia auribarbis, seems to be a female.

I guess you have Cervus elaphus ?

Thank you very much. There must be some Cervus elaphus, though the main species are those I mentioned. Cervus elaphus is ever-present in this part of Slovakia.

Red deer = Cervus elaphus, right ? So I am a bit lost by your last comment.

Ooops, yes, I thought I did not mention red deer and you were asking for it.

OK, all clear !

Auribarbis is on red deer only.
