Tachinidae ID? (South Korea) --> Metadrinomyia xanthokolos (female)
wonwoong
Hello,

I would like to ask the subfamily/tribe/genus name of this small Tachinidae. It was photographed in July 14, 2019 and was sitting on Humulus japonicus plant. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Maybe Female of Metadrinomyia xanthokolos Byun and Han, 2009 ?
The piercing ovipositer is shown in the picture, though blurry.

The photo won’t win the Nobel prize, but given the rarity of this species, please submit to the gallery.

It looks like the depression in T1+2 of your fly reaches the hind margin.

I was able to identify this one because of the initial specimen identification from you! I became familiar with the specimen's morphology, and then remembered that I had a photo which looked like it. Many thanks Smile

p.s. Photo submitted to gallery
