Hello, is this an Ornithomya avicularia? The outer setae on the scutellum seem to be much shorter than the inner ones. Thanks, Marion Length of the fly from head to wing tip about 8mm. Germany, Saxony, July 2020. Edited by Marion Friedrich on 14-07-2020 20:40 |

This year there are more birds. In spring I have seen swallows in the sky. Today I looked around, but could not find any swallow nest. On the meadow and trees in front of the house usually there are only other songbird species. If required I can try to take more fly photos, but do not know which parts are important for ID. Marion |

I thinkit is O. avicularia, but I was a bit disturbed by the small setulae before the large oneson the scutellum. Idon't have a cess to my collection at this time, but untill further notice, it should be avicularia, given the lack of Hirundo nests. Theo |
