It looks special. Could we please get a better view on the mid and hind leg ? And of the wing base ? And is the ocellar bristle lacking or just broken off ?

Theo

MorganA
Looks like there is ocellar bristles, one present and one knocked off.

Somehow, it is very difficult (for me) to read this species.
I just noted the arista is thickened on much more than basal half, that is a big clue.
Now it seems the facial ridge carries several strong bristles but the upper ones might be broken off. So if you could make a picture of the head in very lateral view ?

Thank you for all the effort, here is a lateral view of head.

So, it is either Clemelis or Nilea. Based on the thickening of the arista, it should be Clemelis, but I am definitely not comfortable with the identification.

The size supports Nilea more.

Thank you for all the work Smile I will hold on to it, maybe one day I can firgure out of it. Does not look like Clemelis is registred in Norway before, and Nilea looks to have 4 species, however Tachinidae seems to be rather poorly investigated in Norway Smile

Best wishes, Morgan

Harald did actually a great job a few years ago, but he was a one-man-band And I think he diverted (disserted ?) to Parasitica...
