Looking at the photos after making them a bit brighter, I think I can see thoracic markings consistent with Aedes japonicus or Ae. koreicus. Both species are known from Slovakia.

Hi Josef - Apologies - I misinterpreted the maps (https://www.ecdc....ugust-2019 and https://www.ecdc....-july-2019 ).
Both species are known from Hungary, but not yet recorded from Slovakia. Separating these species is quite difficult - but I believe there is a reliable genome test that can be used.

Hi Tony,
many thanks for your help Smile
I have one more request for you - please is there any free pdf with figs of male genitalia of these invasive species?
With best regards,
Jozef

I haven't been able to locate any figures of the male genitalia of these mosquitoes, but Edwards notes that they are different, and briefly describes the genitalia of koreicus in the original description (see: https://web.archi...100-17.pdf (page 213).

The MosKeyTool http://bioinfo-we...V2.1/html/ shows differencies on tarsus 5, Leg III:
A. japonicus:LEG III: Colour of tarsomere 5 : 1. entirely dark
A. koreicus: LEG III: Colour of tarsomere 5 : 2. two coloured

On image 1 I think I see entirely dark tarsus 5 = A. japonicus

Eric

(A. japonicus are quite common in my garden since 2015 - image from 2020-08-04)
