Haven't seen this brightly marked fly before especially with hairy eyes. Taken yesterday south coast UK about 12mm body length. Any ideas ? Thanks Brian V.  |

Sarcophagidae never have hairy eyes, easy rule of thumb. Except Hoplacephala, Lamprometopia and Xiphidiella (Afrotropical, Oriental and Palaearctic (Egypt), but not (yet) in Europe. In this case I agree with Polietes. Liekele |
