Hello, I found this fly with a red spot on frons sitting head-down on a big mushroom (Coprinus comatus). It flew away and disappeared after the first picture. One and half an hour later I went back, found a fly on the same mushroom and took some more pictures. It was exactly the same fly, as can be seen by comparing the small injuries of wings. Is it a Mycophaga testaea? Thanks, Marion (3.10.2020, on a meadow in Germany, Saxony) |

Mycophaga has plumose arista. Arista seems to me bare.

Thank you for answer, Nikita. I looked again for all pictures, but could also not see any hint for a plumose arista. Unfortunately, I do not have photos with better resolution. Is it a Pegomya or are there further similar looking candidates attracted by Coprinus comatus? Best wishes, Marion |
