Expensive book... is it worth the price? Anyone knows this book? I would like to hear your opinions. Thanks. Smile

I may be able to tell more about it later but I have little time at present to start reading the book thoroughly. I bought it on eBay and it cost me somewhere about $ 60 (including postage!).

Hi Jorge,

Unfortunately, I have the same problem as Paul atm, but there are two reviews free avalaible that might help with your decision:

http://jhered.oxf...l002v1.pdf
--> by Christopher Wills in the Journal of Heredity

http://biosys-ser...tter16.pdf
--> by Torsten Dikow in the GfBS-Newsletter [page 52, German only]

so long,

Hello,

In the first review, I read :
not just Drosophila but the many other 2-winged flies

Overdetermination strikes again...

Nevertheless, the review is very positive.

I've got this book.
First two articles are interesting (palce of Diptera in Insecta and high level Diptera systematic) other less interesting.
I'd say that one can live without this book as well...

well, fortunately, I decided not buy the book. Smile

Suggestion: "Evolution of the insects" was a great buy! I advice it strongly. Smile
