hi flyforum, I think this fly could be Phaonia (rufiventris?) But I can need some help..  |

Thank you very much Juergen and Nikita, I thought P. subventa was more a spring-Phaonia ?Looking at the thorax, scutellum and abdomen I see some whitish dust on the fly (kind of line) |

Robert, Ph.subventa and Ph.rufiventris aren't "good" species, male genitalia looks rather alike. Zaitsev key: Ph.subventa - 2 prst dc, antenna all black Ph.rufiventris - 1 prst dc, ant 1,2 segm. yellowish-broun Yours - 1,5 dc, ant 1,2 segm. yellowish-broun. Gregor at all key: Ph.subventa - at least 7 frontals Ph.rufiventris - at most 6 frontals Yours - 10-11 frontals Nikita Vikhrev - Zool Museum of Moscow University |
