Hi Raimo, hard to see - but it could be one of the Psilidae (Chamaepsila sp.). Do you have a lateral view?

Greetings, Eric

Maybe it's a Aulacigaster?

Three different suggestions. My money is on Erics suggestion but I have no more photos. Sorry.

Raimo
It was rather small. Same photo, lesser zoom in.

There is expert's (Andrey Ozerov) opinion:
Piophiidae, most probably Prochyliza varipes.

Thanks Nikita. I guess it goes by the name Liopiophila varipes also, since thats the name in the swedish DYNTAXA. Is Prochyliza varipes the currently correct name?

Nikita Vikhrev
It is under Liopiophila on https://fauna-eu.org/
However, may be Ozerov knows something we do not know...

Ozerov in his paper 2004 (sorry, in Russian): ON CLASSIFICATION OF THE FAMILY PIOPHILIDAE (DIPTERA) (see: https://www.elibrary.ru/item.asp?id=17649449) synonimyzed Liopiophila to Prochyliza.

Hello Raimo & Nikita,
Whether it is Liopiophila or Prochyliza is a matter of some debate. Rcenet work suggests it is a monophyletic genus. Ozerov 2004 places Liopiophila as a synonym of Prochyliza on account of the adult morphology. Martin-Vega et.al. 2014 studied the larvae of Liopiophila varipes and conclude that larval morphology supports the status of Liopiophila as a valid genus.
Rochefort 2016 uses both morphological and molecular evidence and keeps Liopiophila seperate, but synonimises, for example, Searibia with Prochyliza. https://www.seman...0291080ef3
Currently I'm describing a new Prochyliza and I'd like to have the original Ozerov 2004. I have the Entomological Review English version. Yet, I cant even make google translate access the page you so kindly provided Nikita. Would you be willing to send me the .pdf of Ozerov 2004?
Kind regards,
Ectemnius
