Doesn't match anything in Hardy, 1973 [The Fruit Flies (Tephritidae-Diptera) Of Thailand And Bordering Countries]. |

It looks to be close to Trupanea amoena Frauenfeld, a widespread species recorded from Southern China, Taiwan and most Old World tropics apparently as an invasive species. A question of identity of European T.amoena and Asian populations is open: we do not know anything about its host plants in SE Asia. Hardy (1974) (Phlippines monograph) identified this species as Trupanea glauca Thompson, which is more reliable ID. However, further comparison of these two nominal species is needed: morphological differences are minor. Edited by Nosferatumyia on 20-04-2021 09:45 Val |
