Hello, An Ephydridae found in North of France, at Oxelaëre, the 03 March 2021, on a north facing white wall, in a small village Possibly a Scatella stagnalis ? |

The apical spot between R4+5 and M appears to be slightly constricted in the middle. That would make it lacustris (= tenuicosta).

I see what Paul's saying, but two overlapping oval spots can also give the impression of a waisted spot. The overall colour is a rich brown, rather than grey, which suggests stagnalis, as do the rather strong oral bristles, but I confess I'd rather not make a call on this one.
