Flower flies have been selected as a focus of systematic inquiry as they are critical pollinators (a Convention on Biodiversity (CBD) cross-cutting theme), agriculturally important biological control agents, and biodiverse. The group is ready to be harvested in diverse way and will provide a test of the new digital analysis and
dissemination methodologies now available at the Smithsonian.
