hello Fly-reader,
In August 20th, 2005 I met this tiny shiny fly, it was sitting on Urtica dioica.
It got my attention through it's nice gold/green shining.
The size of it was about 2-3 mm. Amsterdam woodforest
The positioning/standing of the legs makes me think how Nematocera do this.
Picture is quite bad, must be one of my first picture's with my camera..
What kind of fly is this? and does it got family? (is it a large family?)
Perhabs someone can solve some of it?
regards, Robert Heemskerk

Dolichopodidae, it's got a large family.
In Holland there are more then a two-hundred' of different species of them(I guess..)
And they call them 'Slankpootvliegen'.
Thank you for your reaction
