Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Sylvicola fenestralis?

Photos taken a couple of days ago at the beach at Graven, Shetland. Can it be anything other than S.fenestralis with that wing pattern?

Yes, S. cicnctus and S. zetterstedti. If you wish to get the names to Sylvicola pictures, collect the flies and send them to me ;-)

Thanks Libor, I'll keep that in mind next time I'm back there. Neither of those species have been recorded here previously [S.fenestralis is on the dreaded Checklist for Shetland though...FWIW] Windy with heavy showers at the moment...[Shetland Summer] Frown
