Please help ID. Many larvae are found inside sick branches of young apple trees. Leningrad Region of Russia, 17 June, 2021.

Hi Igor, difficult to be sure, but it's most probably a Scolytus sp. and on malus branches it could be the small (1.8 - 2.5 mm) S. rugosus. Maybe we could get closer if we see the galleries.

Thank you, Eric. You are right. Several beetles were found in the same branches.
