I opened a blotch in
Aquilegia to not only find a pupa of
Phytomyza aquilegiae, but also a tiny maggot-like creature upon it.
Any idea what it might be?
I put the leaf in a glass and looked at it 3 days later:

Indeed, it is Phytomyza aquilegiae and the small larva is an ectoparasitoid member of the Chalcidoidea (Hymenoptera). There are also endoparasitoid Chalcidoidea attacking this agromyzid species. The adults of those latter species emerge from the puparium after gnawing a hole in the puparium in which the pupa had developed.
