Physical damage to the pupa I would guess - a knock or pressure I suppose. This fly is not dissimilar to those posted recently by Amalia. http://www.dipter...ad_id=9806

This one has all features that lead to Scaeva dignota. Very nice Smile

Thx Susan, Paul, Gerard, Andre, Stephane for the help with recent threads. I'll have to come back to this thread because I noticed that the last image belongs to another individual, probably showing the same species.
