Hello,
I found this 3 - 4 mm fly on March 3, 2021 near our garden pond in the north of Hannover, Germany. Could it be Paracoenia fumosa?
Many thanks in advance!
Hans

Paracoenia
has 5 dorsocentrals, so I think this is
Coenia
. The purple reflections on the throax suggest
C. curvicauda
.
