Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Tachinidae? => Linnaemya cf. picta

Hi,

I took a picture of a medium-sized fly on ivy blossoms at a birch tree in our garden.

The spines at the end of the abdomen seems to suggest that this could be a Tachinidae. Is that correct and is it possible to narrow that down any further?

Germany, Southern Bavaria, Munich (-West), 15.10.2021, app. 8-10 mm

Hi Eric,

thank you for the identification. That looks really good, especially the light brown scutellum, which was puzzling me.

Tibiae look dark, as does the humerus and I don’t see any red on abdominal tip. Difficult to be sure, but L. tessellans seems more likely to me.
