Hello all,

I would have identified this to Eriothrix but the humeral bristles are just 3 in a straight line which doesn't accord to those in that genus (according to Tschörng & Herting 2005: Humeral callus with 3 strong basal bristles in a straight line and an equally strong anterior bristle which stands opposite the middle basal bristle or a little further outwards

I'd be really interested & grateful if anyone has ideas about this!

Great thanks! I'll look for that when I can get to the fly at work again.

There's a somewhat blurry view of the proboscis in this view, would you think this is long enough for Aphria?

Yes.
It is actually one of the rare species: Aphria xyphias.
