Hi,

photographed this fly on the park of a planted pine in botanical garden from Cluj-Napoca (Transylvania). photo taken in 23 November 2007. Size ~7mm.

i think this is a muscid from Phaonia genus. something more can be said?

Looks like Phaonia subventa. But wait for the experts...
