Hi,
found on 27-February-2022, grassland meadow in nature reserve "Höllberg" near Neu-Bamberg, Bad Kreuznach, Rhineland Palatinate, Germany
Length approximately 0.8 cm
Can it be identified?

Hello,

too early for Rhinophora lepida. I think it is Kirbya moerens (Tachinidae).

In North America it is not even the earliest of Voriini (or Wagneriini). The most common and conspicuous Tachinidae of spring in New England are Gonia and Epalpus signifer (Tachinini).
