Picture taken in September near the river in my neighborhood (East China: Zhejiang province). Body length approx. 4mm. Could it belong to the Muscoidea Superfamily? Many thanks in advance!

Kind of similar to Pteromicra. Perhaps Sciomyzidae?

Yes, the thorax seems to have a transverse suture. Thank you for pointing it out!

Thank you Nikita for ruling out both of them!

I do not see vibrissae, and the mesonotal suture is indeed puzzling, but still - how about Piophilidae?

It reminds me of
Chyliza (Psilidae)

Thank you Jan and Tony for pointing me to Piophilidae and Psilidae (Chyliza). I'll explore them.

Or perhaps Strongylophthalmyiidae?
