This fly was "sunbathing" on an open sandy embankment in a bilberry-rich pine forest; 14.05.2022 (Lüneburg, eastern Niedersachsen, Germany).

It followed exactly all my movements while I tried to take photos, so it was only possible to get it in front view...

Eggs are laid on the host, Cervus in this case.
