Hi,
Yesterday I saw a Muscid on a
Salix shrub by a little stream, which I think is a
Lispe species. Unfortunately it was too restless to allow for a good series of photos. I hope that the identification can nevertheless be narrowed down a bit. The locality is southwest Germany, 20 km west of Stuttgart.
Many thanks in advance, Sundew

Ah -
Limnophora is not yet familiar to me. This specimen has 2+3 dc, which fits
L. triangula. Are there more species with this bristle combination to be considered?

Judging by the key to central European species, at least two species of
Limnophora normally have 2+3 dc and others (
L. nigripes) are variable.
