Hi,
Yesterday I met this Tachinid male on Yarrow inflorescences. With the key
http://www.tachin...chweb.aspx, using different characters, I always arrived at
Bithia, a genus new to me. Proceeding with the
Bithia key in
https://tachinida...igures.pdf, I found already the first couplet applicable: "r4+5 with bristlets reaching much further than r-m. r1 and cu1 almost always with bristlets". However, in this case the scutellum should have a short lateral bristle, which I cannot see. Nevertheless the wing bristlets point out to
B. spreta. Can this species be confirmed, or did I misapply the genus? Thanks for comments!
The location was the small town of Malmsheim in Baden-Wuerttemberg.
