Thank you, Waldgeist, for pointing me to this genus. TumbsUp Yes, it bears a good resemblance to a Blepharipa sp., like B. pratensis. Perhaps a congener. Smile

If it is a Blepharipa the key in Flies of China says B. wainwrighti (Baranov, 1932) based on black scutellum and male with narrow frons, no orbitals, and short claws. In China it is known from Yunnan and Guangdong. I would not trust this ID without checking a description of the species.

but that’s an if, it feels to me more Sturmia. Can’t explain why.
