Photographed very recently in east China. Could it be a Minthoini? Or Blondelini? Thanks.

Well, there was a question mark and I just noticed the eye is hairy, so NOT Dexiini.

It reminds me of Atylostoma, though it is not the most common A. towadensis.

Thank you again Zeegers and that's terrific! TumbsUp There're two Atylostoma spp. (A. towadensis and A. javanum) recorded to occur in east China according to Catalog of Life China. I did a look at the image tentatively identified as A. javanum at this link (https://singapore...era-001086) and this could be the very species. Smile

But vertex is much narrower here and eye is hairy, bare in Atylostoma.

It is actually a perfect match with Trichoformosomyia.

Well, yes, eyes are hairy. Such subtle difference! TumbsUp Thank you yet again!TumbsUp I'll change the ID to Trichformosomyia, probably a new record of this genus from east China (Zhejiang province). Smile

Here is a recent review if the genus

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26146706/

It is definitely T. sauteri, so far recorded once from Szichuan.
So, it makes sense, but excellent find !
