Hello,
12. May 2023 - Northern Germany /Wendland - in woodland.
Could this be Myopa buccata or a similar species?

Hello. This is a Myopa buccata. The cross vein in the base of cell R is whitish. In testacea there has to be a really big and conspicious black spot there. And Myopa testacea has a different coloration. So, obviously buccata.
