Hello,
I photographed this fly in the Serengeti National Park, Tanzania, 1500m a.s.l. on February 18th 2023. I'm not even sure of the family it may belong to. Could you help me with its identification? Unfortunately it flew away before I could take more photos.

That should be some "Calliphoridae" (which is not monophyletic, hence the "
I am not into Afrotropical once. Pity we can't see the mouth parts, it just might be a very weird Bengalia.

Cordylobia seems to be a very good option indeed. I didn't know such parasites could be found in the area.
