Found this male Gymnosoma with some abnormally arranged tergites near Moni Thari, Rhodes, Greece on 28_05_2023.

It looks similar to G. clavatum to me.

Is it possible to ID this fly?

Ues, la atum. Those eastern Mediterrean are more e treme than western.
