Photographed earlier this month (05/08/23) on yarrow flowers in a park in Co. Dublin Ireland.
Another female but different from the one spotted in 2021.
Smaller with black lines joining the black bands on the abdomen and no sign of yellow hairs on the scutellum. Sphaerophoria interrupta??
I didn't capture the specimen as I think only male genitalia can be used for ID.
(When will DNA tests be available for flies?)
