I photographed this orange-bodied red-headed fly sunning itself on some Ivy in a local park (Co. Dublin, Ireland) in early August.

I think it is Phaonia pallida. Can that be confirmed?

I shot this one in deciduous woodland Co. Wicklow, Ireland in September 2021.
Is it the same species?

Hello,

Phaonia pallida (female) is correct.
