Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Fanniidae, male? --> Muscidae, prob. Hebecnema sp., male

Hi,

yesterday I took a few pictures of a medium-sized black fly on a leaf. My wild guess would be Fanniidae, maybe Fannia sp.. Can that be confirmed/excluded from the attached images?

Germany, Southern Bavaria, Garden in Munich (-West), 23.10.2023, app. 6-8 mm

Hi Uli, I think it's not a Fannia and I guess it could be a male Hebecnema (Muscidae).
