Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Which Asilidae/Stichopogoninae from Oman - 3?

During my excursion to the South of Oman this September, I saw quite a number of Asilidae (I hope) and would be very happy if you could help me to sort them out (or even better - ort them in). The region is defined by the huge Omani dessert inland, the Indian Ocean and a small strip of land between those, which is regularly watered by a summerly monsun. Huge biodiversity, although we where a little late and missed a lot.

22-SEP-2023 on a beach close to Salalah, 7-9mm. Female and Male of the same species? Thank you vey much for your efforts!

Hi,

Some Stichopogoninae female. Quite recently some checklist for the region of the Arabian Peninsula have been published. Have a look at them for genus and more information. I think it will be something in the direction of Rhadinus.

Best,
Jonne

Many thanks again, Jonne. I tiried to find the chcklist you mentioned, but I am not really experienced with this kind of literature recovery. Could you please give me a hint how to find it? This would be very much appreciated!

PS - the last tow pictures are also female? They look a little different to me, especially at the end of their abdomen.
