Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Pollenia species?

Today I found this fly (about 10-12 mm) on the loft of my house. It has a golden shine, Could it be a Pollenia?
I kept the fly in a pot. So I could make other pictures if needed. Which parts of the fly are essential for the species name?

Yep. Pollenia (Sarcophagidae)

Hello Albert, this is defenitely
Pollenia. As far as I know it is not possible to tell the species from photos.

Albert -
It is very difficult to name
Pollenia from live specimens. With few exceptions, they can only be reliably named by examining the genitalia - not something to be attempted with even the most co-operative live specimen!

OK Jan and Tony. Examining genitalia (of flies
) is not my thing, but still I made some extra pictures. Do you agree that my fly is a female?
