Hello Forum,
again a fly from the alder marshland in Hagen (D) 175 m above sea level. This photo I took on June 23rd 2007. The plant in the background is
Heracleum sphondyleum.
May be the fly belongs to the
Tachinidae. Is a closer determination possible?

Chris is right, for other reasons, though.
In Phasia teh eyes are even closer in females (very unusual !!).
However, it's really very simple:
In males the wings are strongly darkened, in females they are completely transparent
