Hello,
Among the visitors of Berlin ivy in October I saw this grey fly with a brownish scutellum tip. The latter character made me think of
Muscina. However, there are some shadowy wing veins that I have not seen in the genus yet. So I prefer to ask before I chose a wrong name.

To make a
Muscina you should have reddish scutellum apex
and vein M1+2 bent.
This seems to be the very common
Phaonia tuguriorum.

THAT bent is very soft..
not so sharp like Musca for example.

Also for most Muscina the legs are dark, or at least partly dark (stabulans).

Phaonia tuguriorum hadn't crossed my path yet. Your explanations are very helpful, and I'll try my new knowledge in the next thread concerning
