Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Calliphoridae?

Hello Forum,

one more fly from the alder marshland in Hagen (D) 175 m above sea level. This photo I took on June 23rd 2007. The plant in the background is Phalaris arundinacea

Is it a Calliphoridae? Is a closer determination possible?

Looks like a Lucilia male, but can't take it further with this photo.

it can be Chrysomyia... i don?t see any strong bristles on scutum.. but difficult to tell in this photo.

I really doubt it is Chrysomyia.

It is Lucilia I think.

Also Chrysomyia does not have strong bristles on the abdomen - this fly seems to have some - that's why I think it's Lucilia. Wink

aha.. in abdomen.. you have reason. Tony. I change my opinion to Lucilia sp. now.
