I think this colored and hairy fly is a Syrphidae. Maybe a Merodon (hind femora rounded) ?

On a Apiceae flower, in an oak wood, Optevoz, Is?re (38 - FR) 14 05 06.

Yep, Merodon it is, and when it's a quite big fly, this should be a male Merodon clavipes!
