Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Polennia question

Hi,

I have a question concerning the genus Pollenia. I know that Pollenia rudis parasitizes annelids but I don't know if all Pollenia do that. Can anyone give me any insight on this matter?

rudis - E rosea. 1 example reared from Chondrostegia maghrebica (Lepidoptera) chrysalid

Maybe, I must catch some earthworms and see what comes outSmile. But I am really surprised one Pollenia reared from a lepidopteran, I would never expect that.
