Hello Forum,
this fly I saw yesterday (01. Mai 2008) in Hagen (NRW, D); 270 m above NN, on a leaf of a hybrid poplar.
Is it Syrphus torvus? What else?

I think also syrphus torvus female. We can see the hair on the eyes.
