lol. the last one IS NOT grasshoper! Empusa pennata is a mantid. It belongs to the Mantodea order, Empusidae family. Wink It is not an Orthoptera Pfft

Thanks for the correction Jorge!

Is your avatar a look-a-like of the Empusa pennata?

2. Looks like Anacridium aegyptium.
3. Pezotettix giornai.
4. NOT an Sphingonotus. This is Oedipoda caerulescens (or maybe germanica, but in my zone germanica is extremely rare). Do you remember if do you saw this red or blue when it was flying?
5. Yes, Jorge have the same species in his avatar. In Portugal, Spain and Belgium is unmistakable. In South-East Europe can be mistaked by other two species of the genus: E. fasciata and E. fasciipennis.

Most of them had blue wings, some of them were reddish.
I can't remember which colour the one on the photo had.
So I'll keep it on Oedipoda sp.

Thank you very much for your help Isidro Smile

@Jorge: Very nice pics!!! Which lens?

Jorge: never a female! Your nymph of Empusa is clearly a male.
